A1FED Selected to Provide Desktop Support Services to the National Institute of Standards and Technology
A1Fed Incorporated (A1FED) has been awarded a contract to provide desktop support to 8,000 users at the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Maryland and Colorado campuses. A1FED will support the Office of Information Systems Management (OISM), Customer Access and Support Division (CASD).
The work will sustain secure access to the technology NIST users rely on to advance American innovation, industrial competitiveness, and scientific discovery. A1FED will support users in specialized research and laboratory environments spanning nanoscale science and technology, engineering, IT, neutron research, materials measurement, and physical measurement.
A1FED’s team will work onsite and remotely to provide end-user support, device imaging and deployment, technology upgrades, knowledge management, and related services. A1FED’s approach aligns with ITIL 4 and HDI standards. The team will use ServiceNow for IT service management, service-level monitoring, asset and warranty tracking, knowledge management, and performance reporting.

The integrated team will use shared procedures, consistent documentation, proactive service-level monitoring, and continually updated knowledge articles to reduce recurring incidents and improve resolution times.
